Pastor's Bio
Adrian S. Taylor
Our Pastor is a progressive leader who matriculated at Hillsborough Community College, then on to Florida Baptist College, majoring in Pastoral Arts and Counseling. His professional career began at IBM Corporation then onto other corporations as a Corporate Trainer, and manager. Adrian’s extensive background in the corporate sector has further equipped him as a gifted administrator who is capably overseeing the rapid expansion of Springhill and her subsidiary organizations.
Through his leadership, Springhill has experienced explosive growth in diverse areas.. In the summer of 2005 our facilities grew as Adrian led the church into a new multi-million dollar facility, and then in 2006 completed another multipurpose addition. Furthermore, Springhill has grown in membership, from 250 to more than 750 partly facilitated by innovative marketing campaigns. As the membership grew so did their stewardship; she has grown financially, with a 130% increase in contributions during these exciting times. Greatest of all, the fellowship has grown spiritually, birthing new partners, ministries and new leaders. Adrian’s youthful age has attracted scores of young adults (a greatly under represented group in churches), while his wisdom nurtures our seniors. As he stated in his Inaugural State-of-the-Church Address, “We have come a long way.”
His work throughout the community and Baptist denomination has placed him in key positions. He was unanimously appointed to serve a three year term as a member of the Gainesville Planning Board, by the City Commssion. In 2009 he was elected to a three year term on the Greater Gainesville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Most recently (July 2010) he was elected to serve a three year term with the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce. Continuing his drive towards business consulting, Adrian incorporated Excellence Career Development Inc., a company designed to grow organizations and professionals to higher levels of efficiency and quantifiable outcomes.
God has placed on Pastor Taylor’s heart the burden of pastoral ministry, and the need to develop other leaders. While actively carrying out this charge he is currently serving this present age through preaching and teaching God’s eternal word. He travels extensively preaching and facilitating workshops on Church Administration, and ministry development. He desires to communicate the awesome love of God shown to man, demonstrated in the personage of Jesus Christ, documented in the Scriptures. “But God hath commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” [Romans 5:8]
